VÁRFOK GALÉRIA

INTRODUCTION

The Várfok Gallery is one of the oldest private galleries presenting contemporary art in Hungary. In November 1990, it opened its doors in Várfok Street, 1st District. Over the past decades, it has undergone a number of structural changes and developments, and today a large gallery has a nearly 300 m2 of exhibition space and an art library at 11 Várfok Street. The gallery consists of a Project Room, and Gallery19, an open-air gallery running along Várfok Street. The Várfok Gallery works with a permanent group of artists. Throughout her exhibition program, she has consistently insisted on the importance of contemporary art and promotes the creation and presence of new works of art in the contemporary art market. In addition, it places great emphasis on collection and consultancy activities both at home and abroad.
